Walmart Foundation Awards $50,000 Grant to Hand-In-Paw’s Petscription Program!

Support from the Walmart Foundation will enable Hand-In-Paw to make Animal-Assisted Therapy available to more people in Central Alabama. The grant will help Hand-In-Paw train new Therapy Teams and increase the number of facilities and patients receiving Petscription services.

The Walmart Foundation funds organizations that address the unmet needs of people in our communities. Through the State Giving Program, the Walmart Foundation supports programs that align with its mission to create opportunities so people can live better. The Program strives to award grants that have long-lasting, positive impacts within a state or region.

Hand-In-Paw is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. HIP's 100+ professionally trained teams of handlers and their animals help people heal at numerous facilities throughout Central Alabama.
