Hand-In-Paw's professionally trained teams of handlers and their animals help people heal through several different programs, all free of charge. HIP Therapy Teams regularly work with people who have disabilities and serious illnesses, youth at risk, and children with literacy challenges. Founded in 1996 by Beth Franklin, HIP is affiliated with the Delta Society, which registers animal-assisted therapy teams worldwide. HIP is a nonprofit and serves Central Alabama.
