Joy Dorn and her Therapy Dogs Izzy and Dixie
Our first VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH is Joy Dorn, who, along with her therapy dogs Izzy and Dixie, goes above and beyond the call of duty. After all, Hand-In-Paw's work isn't "duty" for Joy; she views her work with HIP a mission. Not only does Joy create personalized cards for the patients she visits - she also makes time to attend the memorial services of many of those who pass away. Time and again, family members have expressed to us how much "joy" Joy and her therapy dogs bring into the lives of their loved ones who are struggling with serious health challenges. We agree. Joy is special and never loses sight of Hand-In-Paw's mission: Helping People Heal.
