Team Information

Basic Team Information
A Team is a group of 5 or more individuals with 1 individual being named Team Captain. Team members can consist of family, friends, co-workers, classmates, athletes or anyone else you can recruit. Team members can be any combination of runners, walkers and/or kids.

Registration Information

  • To register, go to active.com and select “Team Registration”
  • Team Captains must register all 5 team members
  • Please be sure to fill out all the information on your team members correctly
  • $100 flat fee per team of 5
  • If you want to register teams larger than 5 participants, email paige@handinpaw.org
  • All Team registrations must be submitted by April 8, 2012
  • No Team Changes will be allowed after April 8, 2012

Packet Pick-Up Process
Each team member will be responsible for picking up their own race packet during packet pick-up unless the Team Captain requests a Team Pick-Up which is described below. Team pick-ups will only be allowed at early packet pick-up on Friday, April 20th. NO team pick-ups will be allowed on Race Day.

To request a Team Pick Up, Team Captains must do the following:
Send an email with your name, your team name, the names of Team Members for whom you will pick up packets to paige@handinpaw.org . Bring a list of all Team Members for whom you are picking up packets to Fleet Feet with you. You must send an email to arrange this byWednesday, April 18th.

Team Awards
Team Awards will be given in 3 categories:

-Fastest Team
This will be awarded to the fastest Male, Female, and All-Dog team competing in the 5K. The fastest 4 finishing times of your Team Members will be averaged to determine the winners. (Note: Teams consisting of people participating in the 1 mile fun run will not qualify for this award)

-Best Team Name
The Mutt Strut Race Committee will determine winner based on originality, humor, and creativity.

- Most Team Spirit
The Mutt Strut Race Committee will look at costumes, t-shirts, props, enthusiasm etc. Arrive early and meet your team in the designated team area so you and your team can be judged. Check the event map in your race packet for this location.


Team Photos On Race Morning
Celebrate your team’s accomplishments in supporting Hand in Paw. Team photos will be taken race morning. Check the event map in your race packet for this location.

Additional Team Captain Information
Be a leader, be a team captain! The role of Team Captain is very important in organizing a team. Listed below is an outline of the roles and responsibilities of the Team Captain:

* Communicate important race information to your team
