 Hand-in-Paw is staffed primarily by volunteers and the services we provide are free. We depend entirely on financial contributions and in-kind gifts to fund our mission. Our funding sources also include grant funding and funds from special events.
Considerable resources are needed to professionally train, supervise and maintain our Pet Partner® therapy teams, whose services include programs for at risk youth, to provide literacy programs for children and to provide educational and community service programs, and to purchase resource material for our library.
 We are efficient with our resources. In 2003 84% of the expenses went toward programs, 13% toward fund raising and 3% toward management and general.

- Your tax-deductible cash donation will help us help children and youth with social, emotional, and physical challenges.
- Make a donation in honor or memory of pets or people. You can also give donations for birthdays, holidays and other special occasions. Cards will be sent to acknowledge these donations.
- Leave a legacy of love through leaving a bequest to Hand-in-Paw or including HIP in your planned giving. Call (205) 322-5144 for more information.
- Give stocks and securities to HIP which yields tax benefits for you and funding for HIP. Call (205) 322-5144 for more information.
- Do your Internet shopping at iGive.com. Help make our wishes come true by helping us secure materials and services that help us to be wise stewards of our funds. shop with one of the Hand-in-Paw supporters and HIP will get a portion of the proceeds from your purchase. Take your clothes or furniture to a consignment shop and ask that the proceeds go to Hand-in-Paw. If you are interested in helping HIP in this way, contact our Fund Development Director at 322-5144.
- Raise funds for HIP the eBay way. Consider selling items online with eBay and donating the proceeds to HIP! Or donate items to Hand-In-Paw like vintage collectibles, antiques, rare books, pet related items, designer clothes, etc. Items must be in excellent condition and small enough to ship easily. Clean out your closets and call 322-5144.
